Medicare Savings Programs Explained
Full MSP guideThere are four Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs). Each one covers a different slice of your Medicare costs based on your income. About 5 million eligible beneficiaries don't enroll — mostly because they don't know they qualify.
Qualified Medicare Beneficiary
Covers Part A & B premiums, deductibles, and cost-sharing. The most comprehensive program.
Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary
Pays your Part B premium only — saves you $185/month in 2026.
Qualifying Individual
Also pays Part B premium. Income limits are slightly higher than SLMB.
Qualified Disabled & Working Individuals
Pays Part A premium for people under 65 who lost disability benefits due to returning to work.
